Races

Your choice of race in Astaria determines three things:

• Your stats. These determine how well your character performs in the game.
• Appearance. While this is optional, each race has a specific set of visual customizations. Players do not need to complete this step to play the game. However, using the setlook command overrides what others see when they look at your character.
• Race determines racial abilities players have. Some of these abilities are "passive," they are always on and always doing something, while others are "active," requiring players to type in a command to use. Some are directly related to combat, and some do not involve combat at all.
