Harnessing the power of nature, a druid is capable of binding any player's spirit to a forest-heavy environment. Only a willing player may have his or her spirit bound, and a druid may only sustain one binding at a time. Any binding will dispel itself when the druid leaves the Realm.

In the event of death, a player who is spiritbound will be able to reincarnate himself or herself by floating to the room in which he or she was bound, and issuing the <reincarnate> command.

No further intervention on the part of the druid is required aside from maintaining a physical presence in the Realm to sustain the binding.

Depending upon the skill level of the druid at the time of the reincarnation, there is a chance of failure during the actual reincarnation, in which case the player will remain a ghost. In this situation, the player will either need to pray to the gods for intervention or undergo bodily resurrection.

Commentary


Spiritbind is useful since it allows an adventurer to reincarnate themselves instead of having to wait for a cleric to resurrect them. If an adventurer dies their corpse will eventually rot, which will prevent any clerical resurrection.

Be absolutely certain a ghost can get to the room in which the living player was spiritbound; a Druid spiritbound to a room in the guild grove is out of luck as a ghost cannot travel to that room.
